Product Information
6-piece front control arm kit featuring Lemforder replacement tension struts, lower wishbones, and Lemforder ball joints
This front control arm kit assembled in house by FCP has been designed to address all common wear items in the front end of the all wheel drive E9X front suspension. The included components from Lemforder are the same components that would have been installed on the vehicle from the factory.
We recommend replacing all of your components if you have in excess of 80K miles and still have original components. We also encourage that you replace your control arm components if you are experiencing the following symptoms:
- Popping, clunking, or clicking sounds while traveling over bumps or dips in the road
- A disconnected feeling between the steering wheel and front end of the car>
- Vehicle is slow to respond to steering inputs
- Vehicle wanders on the highway or will not drive straight
- Vehicle cannot be aligned properly due to play in front suspension
Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.
As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm. Below are signs of when a replacement control arm may be needed.
Suspension Control Arm Kit Failure Symptoms- Play in suspension joints where these arms meet the subframe and/or knuckle
- Buckling noise emanating from the suspension
- Uneven tire wear
- Inability to properly align vehicle
- Shutter or vibration coming from the steering wheel at highway speed
- Wandering or pulling sensation from side to side felt on the steering wheel
